Manufacturing Engineer

Job Duties:
  • Lead a successful Lean Six Sigma implementation with aligns with our quick-turn custom product process
  • Help derive quality assurance and quality control measures by improving systems and internal processes
  • Ensure team members maintain quality protocols and standards; inspection, testing, documentation and change implementation
  • Manufacturing metrics; measure, analyze and create reports for metrics and KPIs such as throughput, capacity, utilization, machine utilization, quality, and team member productivity
  • Formulate and apply insights to problem-solving processes
  • Champion a big idea or change process with department leaders and supporting peers
  • Serve as project manager for continuous improvement initiatives in a quick-turn manufacturing setting
  • Perform manufacturing process simulations, cost and time constraints, perform risk assessments
  • Quality documentation; help create SOPs and work instructions for facility and products using industry standards
  • Production planning/production scheduling; implementing best practices to ensure the daily, weekly and monthly workflow processes are smooth across the team
  • Safety- oversee facility and team member safety compliance requirements for OHSA and support internal safety procedures including daily safety checks, risk mitigation, emergency planning and individual safety training
  • Successfully lead, develop and manage the performance of 1-3 direct reports
  • Endeavor on projects to scale manufacturing operations for production volume and headcount growth
  • Positively adhere to and reinforce COVID-19 safety protocols
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Operations, Quality Assurance, Business or a related field
  • Lead Six Sigma Certification – Brown, Black or Green Belt required
  • OSHA 10, OSHA 30, or other OSHA certified training
  • Successfully led or had significant involvement in a Lean Six Sigma implementation
  • Applied use and expertise of manufacturing metrics including KPIs, capacity, throughput, and utilization measures
  • Advanced Excel expertise if a MUST
  • Familiarity with the special demands of product quality in a quick-turn manufacturing business model; experience in custom product manufacturing at large scale preferred
  • Experience and/or knowledge of the “chase” or “pull” production planning cycle, not inventory based model
  • Demonstrated servant leadership skills and abilities
  • People management experience
  • Ability to influence and communicate with people to drive change and gain buy-in
  • Ability to observe, document and clearly communicate detailed information
  • You will be in an environment which has limited predictability in production planning cycles day to day
  • ERP tools and system is a huge plus
  • Digital labeling or product packaging experience is a plus
