The master scheduler job description calls for an individual who is highly organized and understands the processes that drive a supply chain. Master Scheduler specialize in implementing best scheduling practices on production/vendor supply. They are responsible for creating, executing, and monitoring a schedule management system. The master scheduler is slated with the task of ensuring that all of the various processes and timelines for a company’s industry are followed closely for the most efficient results possible.

Job Duties
  • General Job responsibilities include utilizing plant fabrication lead times and historical performance data to create schedules, collaborating with production and material personnel to ensure streamlined operations, and conducting training on issues like demand flow for new programs
  • Evaluate and determine estimated equipment set-ups, cycle times, and work center hours
  • Liaison between customer service personnel and purchasing on the scheduling or raw material purchases
  • Monitor material flow to ensure shipping goals are met and collaborate with personnel on the create of production bills of materials
  • Collaborate with information technology personnel to analyze and create enhanced functionality in manufacturing applications. Interface with organizational stakeholders to better understand business goals and revise mater schedules as needed
  • Maintain various reporting systems for ensuring that documentation is accurate and timely
  • Create production schedules daily and ensures that output is recorded into the correct system
  • Communications with customers when there are significant variations in product demand
  • Communicates demand information across a facility so that everyone is aware of volume and metrics
  • Reconciles inaccuracies with customer shipments and deliveries
  • Ensures that employees receive schedules in a timely manner and that any discrepancies are accounted for and covered
  • Works directly with employees to resolve scheduling issues
  • Works with vendors to ensure that supply needs are met
  • Documents key information for analysis which includes downtime, peak production, inventory accuracy and scheduling accuracy
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or an engineering discipline. Prefer a mechanical or manufacturing engineering
  • Prefer certification and experience in Lean Manufacturing
  • Demonstrates the ability to use a computer and various database programs, including Microsoft Excel and MRP/ERP systems proficiently
  • Understands how to document production goals and deviations from these goals on a regular basis
  • Shows the ability to understand customer demand and how to alter production so that this demand is met
  • Has the ability to understand customer demand and how to alter production so that this demand is met
  • Demonstrates at advanced knowledge of supply chain activities
  • Shows that he or she can work efficiently under pressure and help motivate employees to meet demands
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred, but NOT required
