Plant Manager

Job Duties
  • Managing all plant operations inclusive of RTE and non-RTE Kitchen and Formulation
  • RTE Packaging, Shipping, Receiving and Warehouse Operations
  • Ensure budgetary goals are met or exceeded
  • Ensure products meet or exceed our USDA standards using specified SOP methods
  • Ensure compliance to local and federal food safety standards
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean working environments and comply with Federal, State and Environmental regulations
  • Responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the facility to include the scheduling of equipment and process areas through direct reports, coordinating vendors, projecting and establishes preventative maintenance programs and schedules
  • Partnering with the maintenance staff to ensure all equipment is properly maintained and operational
  • Responsible for implementing new and best processes of production including process improvement and problem solving to lower cost and improve quality
  • Manage any special projects / improvements as directed
  • Work with other Executive Management to ensure accurate and timely delivery of production requirements
  • Interface with regional sales, management and customers to ensure high customer satisfaction
  • Facilitate and coordinate efficient and effective quality standards within customer expectations  
  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry related to product sales, purchasing, and receiving of raw materials and supplies
  • Fulfill all record keeping requirements related to the data to day operations in a timely manner to include; shift and plant scheduling, performance evaluations, safety training documentation, disciplinary actions, and associate development
  • Develop employees through training, annual review monitoring and mentoring
  • Maintain a team environment among department and supervisory staff
  • Trains and develops assigned personnel. Responsible for conducting timely and quality performance appraisals of assigned personnel. Recommends disciplinary action up to and including termination of plant personnel supervisor
  • Delegates or directs and coordinates plant activities to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize production
  • Develops plant goals and works with and through subordinate associates to achieve results. Work with Plant Superintendent, Department Managers, supervisors and other management to achieve goals
  • Analyze process control charts, develop quality cost analysis and inspect system design annually
  • Work closely with sales and plant operations teams in the quality program management, inspection coordination and testing requirements
  • Implement necessary internal quality assurance systems and infrastructure to support company growth
  • Maintain current knowledge of trends and changes affecting food and safety to develop and recommend appropriate program changes to ensure governmental compliance
  • Advising Executive VP Operations and Senior Management staff of any quality control and food safety issues in addition to presenting plausible solutions
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Assurance, Food Science, Business, Engineering, Operations Management or related field OR a proven history of operational leadership that shows the capabilities to perform the duties of this position OR equivalent to the combination of education and experience
  • 8 years’ experience in a significant leadership role of more than 100 production personnel in an industrial, manufacturing environment. Experience in management handling- hire, termination, discipline, training/development, employee relations, mediation and retention
  • Bi-lingual in English and Vietnamese or Cantonese/Mandarin is preferred, but not required 
  • HACCP Certified
  • Strong knowledge and commitment to SQF culture of food safety and operational excellence
  • Maintain CPR/First Aid Communication
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
  • Technical knowledge of quality and food safety
  • Experience dealing with regulatory agencies (USDA, OSHA, EPA)
  • Experience in developing, maintaining and enforcing employee schedules
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from associates, groups of managers, customers and the general public
  • Strong written and vernal skills
  • Ability and desire to prove top notch leadership
  • Understanding of financial reports, budgetary methods, and forecasting
