Plant Manager

Job Duties
  • Incorporates shop floor organization and plan cleanliness among plant personnel
  • Provides direction, development, and leadership to production supervisor
  • Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company
  • Leads, evaluates, coaches and trains manufacturing personnel
  • Coordinates plant activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Develops and controls profits, plans and budgets
  • Implements cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries
  • Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and HR. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions
  • Establishes and monitors overall plant performance for production and quality standards
  • Develops and implements SOPs
  • Demonstrates ethical leadership qualities in the improvement of Safety, Quality and Cost and Delivery performance measures for the facility
  • Directs and manages plant operations for production, scheduling, maintenance, quality and engineering, as well as shipping and receiving
  • Cooperates with management team in formulating and establishing company policies and operating procedures
  • Controls and minimizes labor overtime, premium freight, and repair expenses
  • Maintains existing plant facilities and equipment
  • Provides leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives
  • Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description, and supervisor’s instruction in such a way to maximize personal output
  • Other duties as needed
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field is desired, but not a requirement  
  • 4-10 years of relevant experience in a managerial or supervisory role within manufacturing. Injection molding experience is preferred, but not required
  • Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and 5S processes
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, work under pressure with challenging deadlines while delivering high quality results
  • Well developed knowledge of the injection and rotational manufacturing methods is a plus
  • Understanding of manufacturing industry processes and procedures with hands on experience
  • Demonstratable ability to apply strategic vision to organization
