KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This role will work directly with the Production Control Group Leader to ensure an effective strategy is executed. This will require:
- Place purchase orders with suppliers for the procurement of production material as required by forecast and production schedule
- Monitor status of open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of all materials, including timely resolution, communication and mitigation of future potential problems
- Expedite or defer orders as required based on schedule/inventory changes
- Run Kanban extracts daily in PFEP to trigger order and releases to suppliers
- Ensure optimal levels and safety stock are maintained for their parts
- Transact as necessary in SAP system to ensure inventory accuracy which includes extract scans to SAP and suppliers
- Cycle count locally sources parts and make SAP inventory adjustments as necessary
- Audits Kanban process to ensure adherence to standard
- Execute stock transfer for China kit parts from Parts and Service Inventory
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a minimum of 4 years of experience in buyer/planner/material scheduler role working for a manufacturer
- Knowledge and skills surrounding Material flow within a production system lean concepts and process, as well as production planning with on-time delivery of supplies to internal customers
- Working knowledge of Kanban systems, buyer/planner responsibilities and process as well as overall materials systems knowledge
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with ERP systems, SAP preferred
- Strong understanding of inbound logistics and inventory management
- Outstanding knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
- Demonstrate the ability to engage with internal team members and external stakeholders to ensure availability of materials
- Strong communication, presentation skills and teamwork skills with the ability to build trust and credibility globally which includes winning approval from various stakeholders.
- Demonstrate a high degree of creativity and mature judgement in anticipating and solving non-reoccurring, unprecedented problems. Have a Root Cause/Countermeasure approach to problem solving (analytical vs. intuitive)
- Project management skills with the ability to plan, create, maintain and resolve open issues, lead functional teams, financial tracking and management of program fund spending
- Process driven, detailed oriented, results driven and self-motivated

EDUCATION
- Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts in Supply Chain, Business Logistics or other related fields
