CNC Robotics Programmer

Job Summary:
Responsible for programming, setting-up and troubleshooting 3 and 4 axis, Robotics, along with training Set-Up employees.
Duties and Tasks:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
  • Programs robots offline and move jobs from machine to machine
  • Responsible for programming assigned jobs using G & M code (Esprit experience a plus)
  • Develops Operator Process Instructions for processing parts
  • Leads design and building of fixtures and clamping; completes CNC Fixture Specification Form
  • Oversees prototypes through entire production process.
  • Ensures safe work environment and practices within the Automation Department
  • Modifies existing programs to improve cycle times. Drives continual improvement in quality. 
  • Responsible for training and development of CNC and Robot Set-Up.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Understand Metric and English descriptions for fasteners, screw sizes, screw head sizes etc.
  • Converting existing jobs to Ball Lock Locating System
  • Oversee conversion of other cells from manual clamping to hydraulic
  • Other tasks as assigned by management

Education / Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5 or more years CNC Programming experience.
  • 3 or more years of Robotics experience.
  • Computer Experience (Word, Excel)
  • CAD/CAM Experience (AutoCAD, Esprit, SolidWorks)
  • Design/Engineering experience
  • Quality Control (QC) experience desired.
Language Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, set-up instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Able to communicate effectively with other employees.
Mathematical & Reasoning Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Able to practical problem solve and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Able to interpret a variety of specifications and information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
