Quality Director

Employbridge Search Group has a client in Oklahoma City, OK who is looking for a Global Director of Quality to join their team! This is a Direct Hire position with a reputable company who has competitive salary, great benefits, and room for advancement!

The Quality Director will direct and coordinate all quality activities across manufacturing, supply chain and design within all manufacturing locations. Leads continuous improvement activities for critical suppliers and internal manufacturing locations in North America. Continuously improves and enforces the implementation of all policies, practices and procedures pertaining to corporate supply chain initiatives and manufacturing processes. This position will require an energetic and enthusiastic person willing to lead, promote and drive process control and improvement methodologies at suppliers.

Job Duties:
  • Lead weekly Corrective Action meetings and Quality Management System audits. Train suppliers in SQ&D tools and techniques that included Process Certification, Quality Clinic Systems, Relentless Root Cause Analysis, Mistake-Proving, and Value Stream Mapping
  • Reduce working capital and improve on time delivery by driving lean management practices at supplier sites
  • Drives new part and system level qualifications, as well as new product development validation with suppliers, manufacturing, and design partners, through Supplier Development Engineers and other for 100% PPAP on schedule delivery
  • Reduce cost by monitoring and tracking supplier value analysis/value engineering and operational efficiency opportunities
  • Engage with critical suppliers and manufacturing plants to initiate an appropriate improvement program to achieve a percentage reduction in supplier and internal manufacturing PPM
  • Hire and build a team of quality engineers and technicians, to developed standard-work and mature Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) competencies
  • Verify and validate high right suppliers and internal manufacturing process opportunities, to then develop a strategic plan and leverage a consultative approach to drive improved quality and on time delivery
  • Be the company focal point for customer quality issues, determining root cause, and action planning across the organization to resolve all quality issues
  • Report and track on supplier and internal manufacturing qualifications activities across the divisions. Assist in the preparation and monitoring of test plans
  • Participate and support talent succession planning to include identifying bench strength and development plans
  • Design and institute a robust supplier audit procedure that proactively identifies gaps, risks, and production readiness within the supply base
  • Develop and drive in partnership with the engineering team processes and metrics resulting in improved on time delivery and quality launches
  • Update and roll out a comprehensive supplier manual that communicates expectations and enforces policy requirements and holds all suppliers accountable for quality issues
  • Prioritize targeted supplier for improvement by performing on-site technical process reviews, evaluating supplier corrective action requests (SCARs) and driving 8-D activity
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain Leadership along with Corporate Category Managers to implement a systematic approach for resolving repeat delivery and quality offenders
  • Provided leadership in the execution of supplier and manufacturing compliance audits and support the commodity strategies to meet operations 90% build rates and keep customer contractual commitments
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field Required (Business, Supply Chain, Manufacturing or Engineering)
  • Minimum 10 years’ progressive experience in manufacturing, industrial or supply chain environment
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a leadership role
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred, but NO required
  • Knowledge in leading DMAIC type projects, implementing SPC process control systems, conducting manufacturing processes reviews, tooling, and fixturing measurement systems analysis and design of experiments.  Auditing experience is a plus, along with familiarity with AS9100 and AS9102 requirements
  • Demonstrated ability in Manufacturing, Supplier Selection, Technical development, Project Management, Contract Administration Negotiating, Transactional Management, Inventory Control and other Sourcing activities
  • Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, a self- starter
  • A team player that can relate to people at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to be flexible and able to function comparable in a fast paced, constantly changing and ambiguous environment
  • Ability to write professional reports and business correspondence

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as percentages, ratios, and proportions to job-related situations
  • Ability to weigh all available facts and opinion within a reasonable time period to conclude best suited for the customer, the company, and the employee
Travel Required
  • Up to 30% travel to Domestic and International locations
