Field Solution Engineer

Leadership contributions
 
  • Train Customers on installation methods, solution management, supporting sales efforts by field training and presentations, work closely with other departments such as product management, manufacturing, marketing, and Research & Development
  • Transfer technical & product knowledge- train customer, resolves customer’s complaints and issues, create technical documentation,
  • Travel with sales manager, go to tradeshows., travel with short notice and help on installation sites as needed
Individual Contributions
  • The Solution Architect will be responsible for supporting Customers and Sales and will interact daily with Western Sales Managers and Director(s).  The S/A will conduct training sessions to customers on a variety of subjects and products. They will interact frequently with Product Management and Strategic Account Managers to help provide customer solutions. The S/A will attend complaint locations and help determine root causes. The S/A will enter information into Sales Force as a communication tool and record of customer contacts.
  • Engineer will develop relationships with Fiber Cable Vendors, Jetting Equipment Vendors, customers, and become somewhat expert and their cable designs, equipment usage, and jetting in of cables. They will become familiar with products, including standard conduit, MicroDuct, and FuturePath. Will be able to recommend best solutions for customers applications.
  • Create and maintain individual technical documentation like Technical Bulletins, assembly guides, testing, and procedures, photo library of products and accessories, presentation of products and solutions, prepare samples for customers and sales.
  • Provide technical support to help deal with the customer complaint process, by standard root cause problem solving and analysis, countermeasure documentation, and learning knowledge pass through, to appropriate functional groups and team members • Provide advice and guidance on technical attributes of current and future products, systems and processes
  • Bring technical knowledge on installation process and efficiency best practices, improvements, problem solving, technical inquires of network capability and function
  • Leverage external relationships/partnerships with industry stakeholders/vendors/customers to maintain our position as market leaders
  • Execute quality tests per ASTM and Telcordia Standards and trial/product solution application tests.
  • Provide engineering CAD drawings for conduit products, including fill ratio components and updates and new content for Website.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Technical Job-Related   Managerial Related   Human Relations Related  
Degree in engineering, Design engineering  or equivalent work experience; Civil Engineering/Mechanical Engineering degree
preferred or equivalent. (a plus)
Prioritization & delegation tasks based on business priorities and follow up as needed;
able to work remote
Excellent oral & written communication skills (required)
Experience in Telecom/Datacom Industry, cable TV power related outside plant industries; Communications Industry Experience;  Train customer on installation methods and solution management (required) Internal & External Customer Relationship Management; relationship building (required)
Computer tech savvy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) (required); preferably CAD, MSO; SalesForce is a plus Looking out – Proactively looking outside of our business and industry, to keep up to date on trends, changes, in the external environment Work well under pressure, tight deadlines, handle crisis situations effectively
Strong analytical problem solving, root cause analysis attention to detail, and process improvement skills Project management- need to be organized, and ok with last minute changes Curiosity & future focus idea generation best practice/next generation installation methods is a plus
Technical documentation/writing &
marketing material creation; Managing Content and Updating and Authoring Technical Library and Presentations
Personal enhancement; training Technical credibility /influencing customer decisions  (able to build technical credibility in short
period of time). Required
Personal, first-hand construction knowledge of aerial, underground, open trench, cable & duct
installation; Trenching, Boring (drilling), Underground Placement
of Utilities. (required)
  Story-telling/presentation delivery to large crowds and cross-functional teams at different level
Conduct product quality test and product solution application test is a plus   Work well independently & in team environment; dependable
Detailed knowledge of telecommunication construction specification and know how is a plus   Transfer technical & product knowledge; Technical information interpretation & ability to translate into
terms, concepts readily understood by colleagues, customers, team members. (required)
Fiber Cable Experience (Placing-splicing) (required)
 
  Sales experience is a plus
Data center construction is a plus   Self-Starter, be proactive. (required)
